1980 Expanding the ranks of Alpha Phi Omega in South Carolina is Alpha Alpha Epsilon, recently chartered at the College of Charleston. Lucius E. Young, LTC, Ret., Past National President, officiated at the ceremony and Chuck Bowen, South Carolina Sectional Chairman, assisted in bringing this Chapter to life. |
1931 Edition of the "LightBearer"
The protection of the name of Alpha
Phi Omega, insignia, and trade mark,
by the U.S. Patent Office has been
completed. The number of the Trade
Mark Certificate is 265.052. This
protection is for 20 years, subject to
renewal.
September 1946
Gamma Beta Chapter at San Jose State
College held a formal initiation for a
pledge class of eight. One of the pledge
projects was to paint four benches and
eight flower pots, in which were
planted some boxwood shrubs. The
Chapter was helping the S.C.A. in a
campaign to raise money for the
national "Heifers for Relief " The
Chapter again has the Bindex
agreement at San Jose State, allowing
the Chapter to give two scholarships
next fall as they did before the war.
Fall 1961 Issue
The Torch & Trefoil announced that
the 1961 Fall Pledge Class was
dedicated to John E Kennedy,
President of the United States.
