15 Years Ago 1981 Winter Torch & Trefoil Kappa chapter at Carnegie-Mellon University demonstrated the caring touch APO is known for when members provided food, clothing, and supplies to a local boarding home for elderly women. The third National Convention was
slated to be held in the Jefferson Hotel
in St. Louis, Missouri. Anticipated as
one of the most important meetings of
APO history, it hosted twenty-three
delegates from nine chapters.

Delegates to the National Convention
were asked to devote a regular chapter
meeting to their reports of convention
business and happenings. They were
to include highlights of the
convention, and present ideas they
gleaned that would be useful to the
local chapter. In addition, a written
report would come from the National
Office to all chapters to sum up
convention proceedings.

National President Aubrey Hamilton
announced the appointment of Roger
Sherwood as the third National
Executive Director of the Fraternity.
He was replacing johseph Scanlon
who was retiring. Roger was
Executive Director of the Fraternity
for ten years.
